Patriots Day 2016
Umm can you say too soon?
Feels real weird to turn this into entertainment so quickly after the event occurred. This started production not even two years after the bombing. I mean, it’s no doubt a good movie and I like what it’s going for, but why not just make this a documentary? Feels kinda exploitative and disrespectful to make this into a Hollywood production.
Again, not a bad movie, it’s damn well made, but watching it made me feel weird.

Soft & Quiet 2022
God-FUCKING-dayum.
Maybe one of the most disgusting things I’ve ever seen. Truly the movie America deserves.
The insanely unfitting credits music really REALLY messes up the closing of the film, though. It’s goofy and straight-up undermines the absolute horror of the rest of the film. Editing is so important, y’all.

Heavy Traffic 1973
Ralph Bakshi is an under-appreciated genius. This is probably his most innovative outing. The social commentary is so brutal and disgusting, and the artistry on display is honestly inspiring. He’s without a doubt one of my favorite voices in American cinema.
Also, I’m not gonna say Michael is “literally me”, cuz y’know, he’s not the greatest dude, but I certainly related to many of his plights. This movie really captures what it feels like to be a listless 20something stuck in a world that couldn’t care less about you.
A beautiful, rollercoaster ride of a movie I will never tire of. This shit simply rules.
