  Reminds me a bit too much of Sole Survivor, as a movie with a slightly off, slightly dreamy atmosphere that just isn't interesting. At least there's some decent setpieces of varying levels of laughability.

  A lot of the modern reception of this movie seems to be clouded by an exceptionally poorly aged scene that not only plays the sexual assault of a trans person for laughs, but portrays the assaulter as a hero for "putting them in their place". Even in the context of the Reagan-era glory days of institutionalized homophobia, it's rough.
