It bothers me that this movie pays no tribute to the workers’ movements and civil disobedience that forced an election in the first place - nor does it ever specify the victims of fascism in Argentina, essentially the victims of an anti-socialist purge which was strongly backed by (take a wild guess) the United States.

This movie is unbelievably centrist, there are some good moments when the focus shifts to individual stories, but it doesn’t dwell on them long enough. Idk, mixed feelings about this one and I don’t see where all the praise is coming from

Been a little while since I last saw an MCU type film, forgot how absolutely ass these can be. The money laundering isn’t even well hidden, so disgraceful to cheaply refer to real life world tragedies in this lazy, piece of shit cash grab

Just watch The Creator for a competent movie on a similar topic

You have to be a special kind of stupid if you liked this movie or paid to watch it in the theatre

I think there’s a better movie hidden in here somewhere. What this movie needed was stronger characters imo, it didn’t really spend any time in developing their relationships and this translated on screen as the characters feel hollow and disconnected from one another. There’s an argument that this is the point, given the subject matter of the film, although I think that it more so demonstrates poor execution. The movie is well shot but chooses to use this sickly yellow contrast for most of the duration that are such an eyesore, great acting by Ewan McGregor though. The score by Christopher Bear is also commendable
