Cronenburg's sci-fi body horror. Maxx Ren (James Woods) is a cable programmer for a controversial sensationalist television station that airs fake beatings, pornography, and the like.
The plot centers around Ren being shown a pirated broadcast signal of a snuff film, Videodrome. However, Videodrome is no ordinary snuff film, it's a form of mind control that casts out a signal that makes the viewer hallucinate and even carry out acts of violence.
5/5 for the practical effects. 3/5 for it's inability to hold my interest. The last 20 minutes are the best part of the film.
