Overrated and overspent. It's hard to mess up a movie set in the most interesting period in human history but Tarantino somehow managed 🙏🏼 I've got to hand it to him.

One big Sonic Adventure 2 reference. Incredible.

It's essentially got a cast of only two people like The Lighthouse, only instead of being one of the most engaging films of the last decade, it's horrendously boring.

Every time it feels like it's about to find its footing, it drops down again and you're left with the main character staring off camera with a horrified expression. None of these scenes have any pay-off worth a damn, except the last one, but by then it's too late.

Great actor; bad film.

Genuinely entertaining on a first watch, but this movie suffers HEAVILY on rewatch. None of the characters are written well enough for me to care if they live or die on a rewatch, and none of the dialogue is entertaining enough to justify the amount of yapping that happens. The payoff at the end thus feels cheapened and lacks the 'oomph' it had on first watch. 2/5 *s.
