    The only thing more bonkers than casting your daughter as the T Swift stand-in at whose concert an FBI profiler is sure she will catch a serial killer is casting Hayley Mills (?!?!) as that FBI profiler - I swear I was waiting for the twist to be she had a twin who was going to factor in at some point

    Is the end just a little too tidy? Maybe, but would you want it any other way? 

    I don’t think I’ve ever seen an Officially Licensed Godzilla move other than this one, and it seems hard to imagine any others could top this. Good drama!

    I feel like this might get re-rated a little lower down the road but on first impression it’s just a really funny, colorful only-in-America (?) coming of age (?) tale. The temptation from all sides is to make this say something bigger than it intends; but “don’t get into business with Russian oligarchs” is as straightforward a message as you need!

    I’m generally not a huge anti-spoiler guy, but one reason to avoid them is so you can watch this and then at the end go “oh…so *that’s* why it’s called ‘Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood’!”

    It wouldn’t be Tarantino without the gratuitous violence packed into the last 20 minutes, which feels a little misplaced, but otherwise might be my favorite Tarantino? At least provisionally? The performances he gets out of Pitt and DiCaprio are both so good, Robbie is effervescent,…
