The Toxic Avenger 1984
Oh, he's toxic alright.
It's a miracle I made it to the end of this movie. There were so many irredeemably disturbing parts that it made it difficult to appreciate SFX and the campiness that gives this film its cult appeal.

This feels somewhat silly to say to people who didn't watch it but this movie is so genuinely heartfelt and creatively inspiring without being explicitly ABOUT creativity, which has been lacking in movies marketed towards kids. (Sorry to @ you directly but I AM talking about you, IF (2024).
I found the voice acting was good, the editing style was SO good, score was fun, and I could see the Dav Pilkey illustration style influence so clearly throughout. There were so many honestly beautiful sequences at nighttime and in nature and oh my god it made you feel for a second like the world isn't awful.

Gattaca 1997
So I first watched this movie over five years ago and I admired everything about it- the 90s futurism, lighting, color grading, the layers of commentary, and the absolutely gorgeous and talented cast. This film still hits in a certain way and makes me emotional. There’s a reason it is a favorite of mine.
