I'm Thinking of Ending Things 2020
Extremely uncomfortable for a majority of the film, but it's the kind of discomfort that's built on a plain-faced and genuine strangeness. On occasion, it does tend to get carried away with its weirdness (it's a Kaufman movie after all), but at the same time it carries that absolutely dead-on take on relationships in disarray that expanded my own perspective in Spotless Mind.
I expect I'll watch this again someday.
Strong performances permeate through the whole film, especially from Jesse Plemons and Toni Collette.

Prey 2022
Risky reviewing it while still in immediate, post-good-movie hype mode, but for a Predator sequel made in 2022 it was terrific. Compelling as not only a period piece but also as a Predator movie (and it does not overshadow the meat of what that kind of movie means with its interesting setting and concept), the body count soars and the violence is here in spades.
Sometimes the most unusual franchise risks pay off in a big way and this is it.
