i feel like my past reviews of this have been so short because it's hard for me to articulate how much i love this film and what it means to me.

i got to see it on a big screen a few days ago, with the live organ accompaniment no less, and i still find myself just as entranced as when i first watched it.

growing up, i never really "got" silent films. i just thought they were inconvenient relics…

this is a movie that has scarcely left my mind since i first watched it. such a fascinating piece of art that i have been meaning to rewatch for quite a while at this point.

so so gross but so so good. a movie that's definitely not for everyone, in fact most would probably find it pretty gross and uncomfortable, but i find quite interesting.

it's a twisted tale of art, love, obsession, grief, pain and death, about the destructive…

what a headache (pun intended). i wanted to like this but just. didn't unfortunately. from here on out my rewatch becomes a first watch as this was about when i stopped watching as a kid. this had some okay moments (i think when the doctor pulls clara out of the dream the first time is great, and the concept of these dream crabs is just a very freaky concept in and of itself) but it also just felt poorly paced…

once again questioning why this is on letterboxd BUT I loved missy and very dark take on the cybermen (i mean honestly they're the doctor who villains that always scared me the most as a kid, the idea of being "upgraded" against your will scared the shit out of me, and still is quite unsettling). i feel like as this season went on the whole 12/clara/danny dynamic just became so convoluted where i just kind of threw my hands up…

i was not preparedddd to see amy again you can't just do that to meeee

i think some parts of this get a little too overblown sci-fi action setpiece-y (for lack of a better descriptor) for my tastes (as many of my least favorite moffat-era episodes do, "a good man goes to war" is a prime example), him shooting things out the sky with his regeneration energy for example was incredibly dumb. but the way so much of this story…
