    It's mentioned towards the end of the documentary that there are simply so many strings that one can follow when investigating these events and I think this is the reason why this film feels quite underwhelming.

    So this is definitely a me problem, but ever since watching CMBYN I have since associated Guadagnino with the slow, minimalist style of filmmaking that is very raw and stripped back - basically everything that this film isn't. Hence I felt a little thrown off as Daniel Craig walks down the street in the slow motion with Nirvana playing (On a side note I do think it's odd to have music from after the film is set).

    Despite how poorly it may have been displayed here I do genuinely believe in the colour-blindness of children and the ways in which their perceptions can easily be moulded in their juvenile years, even after coming from a extreme(ist) background.

    I feel as if this story would have been better equipped to tackle this idea with a longer film in order to fully fledge out the journey that the relationships take.

    I think that this film is just incredibly sweet, with some really great performances by all three of the main actors. It would have been easy for a film from this era to have taken a more crass and uncaring look at a situation like this and try to play it solely for laughs.
