Malaysian folk horror.
Roh was stifled by mediocre acting and rather confusing story. Only 83 minutes, yet it felt like a two-hour film. Needless to say, the pacing is completely off here.
Indonesian folk horror, although at the beginning of the film, it feels more like a low-key slasher flick. Pacing is a bit off... and even sluggish. Overtly atmospheric to the point it's just being slow. Does it make any sense?
Overall, it is not a bad film. Not quite excellent, just not bad, imho.
I don't know how to rate this.
What I did as soon as I started watching it... was crying.
I've been missing my maternal grandma since the very day she was in coma. Unfortunately, she passed on too quickly which came as a shock to me and the rest of the family. I'm still grieving over her...
As an adult, I may not understand what true love is simply because I haven't experience it, but what I do know is that I really, really love her (and my grandpa) very much.
I got into journalism expecting a life of adventure. To visit many countries, to talk to heads of state, to write about the customs of unknown people, to be a man of the books - of the novels. To be a hero.
Great Argentine noir! It's gorgeously shot, well-acted with a paranoid anti-hero. Really enjoyed watching it.
