My favorite part of this film was the effects. It's a lovely blend of computer and puppetry that makes it look WAY cooler than if the whole thing was CGI. Silly, and predictable, but also fun to watch.
Also the Bom was NASTY ew ew ew ew

    oh my GOD.
This movie RIPPED. The cinematography was really good, the character designs were honestly super fun, and there's not a whole ton of guesswork or careful attention you need to pay because the movie lays it all out for you. It's pretty clear what's happening. I really love how no matter what sort of catastrophe is happening onstage, the audience (and most of the band) continue dancing and singing.

Also the Phantom's look is doing something irreparable to my brain

I watched this film because I absolutely adore the score. Prokofiev's Lieutenant Kizhe Symphonic Suite my absolute beloved. The music is very good although a little hard to hear in the film because of the audio quality.
Altogether a fascinating plot. This movie, while short, can be a little bit slow, but it's also very silly to me. It is a story of miscommunication, overreacting, and unexpected twists. I was fascinated by the gay kiss scenes because this movie is…

FASCINATING film. The animation is so smooth and also so clunky. The characters are all beautiful and also horribly grotesque. Almost nothing happens in this movie but also everything is happening all the time. The voices are great and the line delivery fluctuates. I could never predict what was gonna happen next. There’s a reference to The Shining. The soundtrack has Cheap Trick songs on it. It's thirty-four left hooks to the face followed by one unexpected violent grab to the balls. I'm obsessed.
