Starship Troopers meets the blue people Avatar meets some form of drug fueled cocktail. Bong Joon Ho steps out of his comfort zone on this one and it shows, for better and worse. I kept looking over at my compatriots in the theater like, "y'all fuckin seein this???"

Do Not Expect Too Much from the End of the World 2023
Just like the world it complains about, this film is torturous and dull. The only time color is used when it is showing you something else. The zoom meeting and anything with the hire ups is rife with bad acting and I don't mean the movie itself. And that's clearly somewhat of the point. What a wonderfully cynical film with some clever ideas when it wasn't feeling too self-indulgent. The faux Andrew Tate scenes were a little too much though, couldn't really stomach them.

Poor Things 2023
I'm sure there are many joke non-reviews I could list off the dome for a film like this ("the platonic ideal of being a brainswapped goat eating leaves" in particular comes to mind) but I've reluctantly decided to write a "serious" "review" instead.

The Little Prince 1966
Really captures the odd and surreal spirit of the original novel. I'm too much of an old cynical adult now to fully be lost in the whimsy, all I see is a hat. But this brings me as close to being a kid and being lost in the imagination of the original as I think I could ever be.
