Inspiration for fellow female filmmakers everywhere :) Not over the top, perfect situational comedy, and though surprising in its end, it fits. And the message it sends is female power at its finest! And I love the protagonist's acting choices- spunky and go-getting, yet simultaneously dainty and not bubbly in personality. She lives somewhere amongst every trope while not touching any of them completely.

Attended the LA Film Fest screening.
I didn't uncover my hand from my mouth for the entire second half of the film. I was blown away by the directing and cast, and how such tough subject matter was shot and depicted so beautifully. Most every time I thought I had predicted a moment, I was taken in a different direction. And I loved the use of the Jordans as a device to examine violence and materialism's association with masculinity.

And though the majority of supporting characters were melodramatic and obnoxious- was it just me or did Akan look blind every time…

Okay let me start by saying I was too embarrassed that I hadn't ever seen Fight Club to even add it to my watchlist. It's one of those movies I'm really supposed to have seen. And now I finally have. And holy shit. Not at all what I was expecting.

I was cringing and screaming and laughing and just gawking at the gorgeous and creative and clever directing choices and dialogue. The perfect combination of excellent character development, story, writing,…
