  There's a lot to love about this film, but I don't really see myself returning to it any time soon. I've got to admire the sheer absurdity of what Demy was doing here even though not all of it landed for me. Specifically, I wasn't drawn in by most of the music even though I loved 99% of the songs in his other musicals. Still a lot of positives in this: the costumes were insane, Denueve is unsurprisingly great as the ideal woman, and that baking song will be stuck in my head for the next week.
