Yeah nah I’m not gonna lie and pretend this wasn’t actually a very fun silly romp. Jack Black forever!! Only major criticism is whatever weird thing in the framerate makes it look a bit Polar Express even though it’s live action??

A fun, quite short, very British way to pass a little time. Perfectly lovely, if a bit dull at times.
That said, was suprised by how much bite this film has in critiquing the treatment of people by their own governments, and the insidious priorities of the state. More politics than it’s knees-up-mother-brown cheeky smile lets on!!
I am so thankful this was made. For Venus, and for everybody else that needs it to exist or could learn from it. It’s beautiful.

I really really wanted to love this.
Maybe I’m too seperated from what I as a kid enjoyed, but this absolutely feels to me like a film for kids made by people who don’t really like kids. In the first half they are robotic, painfully non-real and filled with the kind of faux-progressive blabber that only exists to be mocked with a wry eye-roll by centrists.
It is also the worst example I have recently seen of “so…that just happened”…
