    Belfast

I get on the bus. I get off and have a couple of pints at a public house. As I am in the heart of the city of Belfast, half-cut, I decide to book a ticket for Kenneth Branagh's Belfast. When would be a better time? In the city of Belfast, doing what is done best in Belfast (getting sloshed), going to then watch a picture called Belfast.

I get into the cinema. Smicks are throwing popcorn at the screen.…

Every student film compiled of random images that make no sense can only hope to be as good as this. The key difference between the average film student and Obayashi however, is the fact that the man himself is so dedicated to keeping the audience's mouth wide open with such imaginative imagery that a text description could not do it justice.

Without a doubt, I was more invested in this seemingly nonsensical art film more than most narrative features. Why?…

Easily one of the worst scripts ever made into a feature length product. Literally nothing happens for the first third of the movie, and then any action that takes place after is so infuriating to watch as the characters exclusively make nonsensical decisions. The off-screen versions of the characters must be a lot smarter, as it would be impossible for these muppets to actually survive in this environment for the amount of time the film tells us they have.

    Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii

    ★★

Watched the director's cut of this, which is 30 minutes longer than the original, however the new additions really ruined the experience.

It's filled with terribly dated CGI that serves very little purpose. When watching a concert film, I want to see the band play, not watch cutaways to shitty space CGI and laughably bad visuals of Pompeii getting filled with lava. Pink Floyd's music is so rivetting on it's own that it creates such a spacious atmosphere, and therefore…

"He's actually not a man anymore. He's lost the symbol of his manhood. Because I snapped it off".

-What a fucking ride. The ambition and scope of this film is simply incredible. Fully deserving of its run-time and never once had me looking away.

    Borat Subsequent Moviefilm

    ★★★½

The return of Borat has resulted in a cinematic epic. The king of Kazakhstanian journalism crawled out of the gulag, and is in the spotlight once again as he tours around the US&A.

This film takes the iconic moments of the original film and puts them into this more narrative-based scenario. While the film relies on the script a lot more than the first film, it doesn't feel like a cheap imitation to generate money, as it plays on current…
