Somehow worse than its predecessor.
Fine, it’s more violent but it is so much more meandering and there is even less tension than the first one.
Mark Duplass: the only good thing about the first film, STINKS IN THIS ONE. He’s trying too hard this time and becomes completely absurd.
Sara was dreadful and her motives made no sense at all.
Ending was so stupid.

Floored me a little.
Could be plotless - everything is a dead end. Pakula purposely under-develops any real plotting of the 'mystery.' I believe this is evident from the set up in the first scene - why else would a film be so blunt and disinterested with its inciting incident? Instead, we drift with an astounding Fonda and Sutherland through the seediest corners of the city, to the coldest of beds, where something tender is and isn't found.
