  Fairly slow burn build, and the ending could have easily been trite, but this was actually staggeringly beautiful and it's astonishing it got snubbed by the Oscars. Sound engineers were the surprise MVPs!

  Utterly brilliant performances all-round (I was a little suspicious of Mark Ruffalo at first, but he really pulled it out of the bag) with a story that just sucks you in. The final few scenes feel maybe a bit rushed or unsteady, but that's not enough to unseat the whole film
