  Based on a true case, which is probably even more brutal and unsettling than this film, the writing was solely done to shock people. 

  It felt wrong to watch this in its entirety because of how it sensationalized the entire story and the main suspect. It does give glimpses into the sociopolitical reality of India, but that is clearly an afterthought.

  This is an important story to tell but not in a way this film did.
