  after watching funny games, it was so jarring to watch something that cut so much time between speech that there was no room for the dialogue to become a conversation. and for a movie that has one main visual, dialogue was important. also if you don’t want to write female characters, don’t write them for the sake of making yourself feel better, it’s embarrassing. also my butt hurt after sitting for so long. my favorite moment was hearing casey affleck’s voice

  they did this movie so right. I feel like i’ve seen everything in the coming of age genre while coming of age, but this made me smile like no other has. this is an extraordinary depiction of the il/in border life and I will recommend it for years to come
