  It's one of those movies where the genre comes before the story. There are a few scenes at the beginning to establish character but they slowly peter out to give way to hijinks and fight scenes which works pretty well in this case. If the choreography were weaker and the timing worse it would have been a slog but everyone is so well coordinated that it all comes together nicely.

  It's a bit uncanny seeing a film where the Rock is allowed to lose a fight. I probably would have enjoyed it a bit more if it wasn't called "DOOM".
