this falls into a thing I notice. seeing the puppeteers doesn’t take away from the magic of the characters. you can see the puppeteers, but the moment it cuts back to only the characters, it’s not ‘oh there’s Henson controlling Kermit’, it’s ‘oh there’s Kermit’ and so on. the muppets have such a life of their own that even with obvious puppeteering, they don’t ever lose their magic. and I haven’t seen anything be able to recreate that in quite the same way.
