THALA DHAAN
I wouldn’t call this true to the genre, non-mass movie rather this movie has its mass moments but they are subtle.
What worked for me in the movie is
how Ajith was able to convince us that he is a regular man dealing with regular people problems. At the same time he shines as an action star.
Of course, it was refreshing to see a different take on a star movie. Yet the movie still has its “high”…

A good intention/message doesn’t make a good movie. If I wanted to learn more about communism, I would have gone to YouTube or library.
The movie lacked the intensity that part 1 or other Vetrimaaran movies had. The only parts of the movie where I felt the intensity were the opening sequence with Karuppan and the shootout sequence. However the shootout sequence too was diluted with too many dialogues from Vaathiyar.
