  Igby Goes Down 2002

  Igby goes down has a lot of individual pieces that I quite like. Jared Harris’s performance is quite fun as are Susan Sarandon and Ryan Philippe. However, I don’t quite get the meaning of all these individual elements put together. Especially Igby’s character. Who was a complete enigma to me. 

  I would’ve thought that a film about someone who struggles to find his place in life would be more appealing to me. As it’s one of the main struggles of my life, currently. But I just didn’t connect with this at all, unfortunately!

  It’s been a while since I saw any new comic book stuff. I’ve not been a fan of what comic book properties in media have become. They’ve mostly become crowd pleasers. Films and shows that are filled with what the studio execs think that people want to see in them. Instead of having vision from one or several creative minds. Who actually want to do something interesting with the property.

  Can I just say that it's truly refreshing to be watching an actual movie again?
