    Poorna (2017)

    - dir : Rahul Bose

    Cinematography : Subhransu Das

Twenty-one years old lazy me watching the real life story of a girl named Poorna Malavath who conquered the mount everest at the age of 13 and becomes the youngest girl to do that was kinda funny and miserable. The feature debut of Rahul Bose is simple and inspiring but not perfect. Can't give it more than three stars though it demands a watch.

    High And Low (1963)

    - dir : Akira Kurosawa

    Cinematography : Asakazu Nakai

Being a huge fan and enthusiast of this genre, i have seen a lot of crime thrillers within my life as a cinephile. Some might find my words over exaggerating but, i haven't seen a single film like High and Low where the investigation part is this explained. Sergio Leone's Once upon a Time in the West is nothing but another masterpiece. He really is the maestro of western spaghetti films.

As a cinephile who hasn't watched a single western for a long time this was an absolute treat for me in every aspect. The enigmatic attitudes shown by the lead characters, Ennio Morricone's top class music and the exceptionally brilliant direction makes it one big hell of an experience for the audience.

    The story follows three men…

    Kuruthi (2021)

    - dir : Manu Warrier

    Cinematography : Abhinandan Ramanujan

The feature debut from Manu Warrier handles a very relevant and sensitive subject followed by a good first half and an average second half. The chances of making it a solid home invasion thriller were high but the first act's slow pacing and the rushness of closing minutes makes it a strictly watchable one. There is a statement the director intends to portray and he done that without much balancing in it. And at last, the red shoes of Rajuvettan was cool, five star rating for that.
