The film gives an interesting look at how TV and journalism worked back then. Some parts are really tense, but for me it leans a bit too much into “USA IS THE BEST” territory. Yes, watching this in 2025 might lessen the impact of the movie. Yes, a lot of it draws inspiration from Satoshi Kon's Perfect Blue. But the eerie elements, the use of mirrors (and the unsettling feeling they bring) still keep me engaged. It has definitely lost some of its power over the years, but it remains a cool and creepy watch.
