my rating isn’t permanent.. as I need to watch this at least two more times to fully understand the plot. It’s simply just one of those movies that you’re not meant to understand on your first watch. Does that make it pretentious? Definitely, this whole film was annoyingly pretentious and hard to follow through. It was pretty though!

Overrated Scorsese picture. The twist was so predictable it made the whole film disappointing. However even with such dissatisfaction this movie gave me, it is still a 3 out of 5 because of the impeccable cinematography, dialogue, directing, and acting. Thanks to Scorsese of course.

I love this movie so much. The movie is fairly simplistic but a very well done portrayal of a traumatic event that can definitely happen in real life. The action is so realistic and with Tom Hanks delivering phenomenal acting, it makes for such a dramatic effect that by the end of it you’re so overwhelmed, you have no choice but to sit back and say “Holy. Fuck.” as the credits start…
