Little Miss Sunshine 2006
what a way to make such a grief and plight heavy plot into such a light-hearted carefree movie. i really liked the dynamic of representing the family as this modern day, american media-stereotype nuclear family: the pervy grandpa, gay/depressed but profound uncle, knuckle-headed a little douchey but grows on you dad, angsty teen who ends up loving his family more than he thinks, a little girl with beautiful big dreams who brings her family together, and a mom wanting to make everyone happy. so much replay value in this movie :)

The Iron Claw 2023
one of the saddest true story movies i’ve seen, it goes without saying how amazing zac efron’s acting was in this movie. the amount of tragedy that came rushing in upon the second half is something that i didn’t expect, even though i came into watching this movie knowing the caliber of story that was being told. even more insane to understand if i had any exact connections to some of the storylines (i don’t have any brothers)
