First half is this quirky romcom that was honestly not my favourite but wowie there’s an inflection point around halfway where things just click. It’s walking a pretty fine line of cliche for me, but gosh that doesn’t stop the emotional beats from hitting.

I am just in love with the way kogonada sees the world. This movie is so beautifully composed. It’s set in a place with gorgeous architecture and greenery, but it’s just as much about the beauty that you can find in any place. I found the dialogue to feel a bit stiff at first, but its broadness eventually let me ease myself into the space between Jin and Casey. The movie feels open and expansive, there’s an invitation to explore…

not the movie i expected but the one i needed!! when the action gets going it absolutely lives up to the highs of fury road, such an impressive feat for the prequel to somehow elevate the original. furiosa’s odyssey was indeed epic and her delivery at the end just had me buzzing. really loved the history man and chris hemsworths performance, so insane in the best way possible.
