i am a mood-watcher, and today i wanted to watch something that would make me care about a life that i wouldn't normally run into. and i just didn't care about the characters. it's probably a me-problem, but it was just so uninteresting. the animated parts were the only interesting parts, and they felt so random. i don't know. maybe jia zhang-ke isn't for me.
this movie was more entertaining than i had expected. but after seeing it, i feel like it could give even more.
i mustn't forget now that it is a few years short of being a century old, and adapted from a play, which explains it being on the end of the dialogue-heavy side.
