  This movie is definitely a mixed bag. A good portion of it was so ridiculously melodramatic it became cringe, like they were just throwing over exaggerated depressing / aggressive scenes at you for no reason. But Adrien Brody is really good and somewhere around the middle it seemed to lose most of that cringe and had some genuinely affecting moments

  Imagine my surprise when I’m watching the ending sequence and realize that they’re filming INSIDE THE HOTEL I STAYED AT 2 WEEKS AGO ON VACATION WTF ARE THE ODDS OF THAT. Dolphin Hotel in St. Pete, look that shit up!!!😂

  Aside from that insane coincidence, I fkn loved everything about Zola. So entertaining, so funny, so well done. Only criticism is that the ending didn’t deliver based on all the build up, but can’t complain that they’re staying true to the source material. I think this will definitely become a cult favorite similar to spring breakers. I’m so glad to finally be back in the theaters!!
