Will Paul Dano ever be cast as a good guy??
Hopefully not.
The stark contrast between Hugh and Terrence is perfect. Without saying it you can feel Hugh thinking "A real father would want to do this" as Terrence questions his moral standards on how far he'll go to save his child. Which then leads seamlessly to the end where the you can see that Hugh and the antagonist are not so different as he slowly turns into this monster…

It took me 3 days to watch this. Not to the fault of the movie but from my own indulgence into the life of sin. Luckily, I never stooped down to this level of debauchery. Only a mad man could come out alive on the other side of that.
