Schimberg’s low budget indie successfully evokes films of that ilk from the 70s-90s, with its shot-on-film aesthetic (looking for all the world like 35mm or even 16mm), and low-rent-location based cinematography. Its modest approach, and lack of concern with conventional structure or pacing set it apart from contemporary films as well, and further cement it as a throwback retro-indie production.
