2013 was an incredible year for movies. Films such as Wolf of Wall Street, 12 Years a Slave, American Hustle, and Her were stand outs that I still think about today. It’s shameful that’ I’ve waited this long to watch Dallas Buyers Club.

Matthew McConaughey was simply brilliant. His performance as Ron Woodroof, an electrician/rodeo cowboy who drinks and parties too much, took agency of his life when he was told he contacted HIV and only has 30 days left…

Monkey Man is a stunning and thought-provoking film that weaves together themes of revenge, love, faith, political revolution, and fighting for the underdog.

What makes Monkey Man stand out is its bold blend of modern issues—class struggles and trans rights—with Indian lore and spirituality. It feels both timeless and timely, capturing the essence of ancient myth while grounding it in today’s world.

The visuals are breathtaking, with vibrant colors and striking cinematography that bring the story to life. Dev Patel’s direction is masterful, and his work as an actor and filmmaker shines through. This is clearly a labor of love, and it shows in every frame.

I really enjoyed Nosferatu. Lily-Rose Depp was fantastic—particularly in the scenes where she appears to be possessed. Bill Skarsgård is such a chameleon. I never would’ve guessed that was him.

I love how director never fully showed Nosferatu’s face. It was always in shadows or out of focus, which made it so much creepier. Taking Jordan Peele’s advice I see—once you see the monster, it’s never as scary anymore.

The lighting was also great. Lots of darks and blues that made…

Really sad movie. The child character (like Forrest Gump, Lenny from Of Mice And Men) reappears as the muscle for the mob. He loves his family and wants to be a good father, but gets influenced by the wrong people. The boxing tragedy led him here. Incredibly heart wrenching movie. Great acting and story all around.
