Watched with my 4 yo who was incredibly invested from the beginning. First time I can remember that he got visibly upset/cried because he understood exactly what was happening in the movie (as soon as the bird starts going into the sky). Didn't care when Littlefoot's Mom or Mufasa died, but THE BIRD!!!

Loved the book. Appreciated specific scenes and Adams' performance, but it didn't go hard enough. The dog shifting metaphor felt lost and tacked on in this version, and it turned it into a story about a marriage rather than about a woman finding herself (I DON'T GIVE A SHIT WHETHER THE HUSBAND LIKES HER ART). The more I think about the ending, the angrier I get.
