    A beautiful movie I wish I had known about sooner, else I wouldn't be so critical of its flaws (mostly that the slasher subplot was too neatly wrapped up). The soundtrack is great, the colors are warm, the characters are nuanced. I like that the protagonist is self assured.     The love I have for my pets is so profound and all-encompassing that I can't imagine using them in such a way. Skin, fur, and eyes can be replicated, but the relationship between you and that one individual pet cannot. The finiteness of life is tragically sad, but it's also beautiful. If everyone lasted forever, we would never treasure them. Death is a learning experience.
