A friend of mine and I talked about our dissatisfaction of Danish cinema with its current stagnation a year ago. We were perhaps a bit negative and harsh but we felt that Danish films hadn’t done anything significantly different or exciting for years when it comes down to the visuals and the artistic expression shown on screen. This was an amazing watch. I didn’t expect to like it this much! A perfect movie to watch past 1am on a weekday. Beautiful, surreal and eerie – existential dread ahead. The whole aesthetic of the film and its soundtrack was a great pleasure to experience, and the trans message it conveys is both important and potentially life-changing for some.

On a personal note, the film made me quite emotional thinking back on my life – my childhood especially. Thinking…
