I had a great time with Godzilla and Kong Skull Island. How did they fumble the ball so badly for king of monsters?
Rhodan and Mothra were basically extras. No Kong. No Octopus or Spider. And yet this was the battle royale movie. But it felt cheesy, the effects weren’t great and the plot and writing were poor. What a disappointment.
Way better than I expected. I generally have ignored the American Godzilla movies but this was a good ride.
Does it push the limits of believability when our eponymous hero traverses the globe bumming rides from the military, but the movie delivers pretty solid action. It’s no Destroy All Monsters but it is a good time.
Solid film of a true story about a troubled young man and a teacher who wasn't willing to just let him slip through the cracks. I quite enjoyed the pacing and the way the film slowly reveals the trauma, the darkness that drove Nate to do the things he did.
Jarred Harris puts in a fantastic performance as Stan Deen and Nicholas Hamilton was convincing as Nate. Cinematography was surprisingly good for a low budget indy film. Enjoyed this one from start to finish.
Cate Blanchett said this was no Citizen Kane, and she was right... That said, it wasn't terrible. I felt the overall set design and depiction of Pandora on screen was good. Claptrap was spot on and Jack Black did a great job of voicing him. I felt like this was a decent homage to the game, if you played Borderlands things felt familiar.
