Complain all you want about overrated actors in all the movies, “the rock only plays himself”, etc.
There’s an incredible difference when you have actors like The Rock, Chris Evans, and JK Simmons carrying the movie. Not saying they’re equal, but Johnson is incredibly good at the one type of character he plays, and Chris Evans is amazing at facial reactions that stand alone.
This movie could’ve been a generic, completely boring and bad experience, but it is CARRIED by the “overrated” actors.
It’s fine. I wouldn’t call it worth watching. It’s representative of these straight to streaming movies that have a high enough budget and efficient predictable production that it doesn’t really have to be creative. Which results in a decent, kinda enjoyable way to kill 2 hours.
Immediately after watching, without a lot of time to process.

Let’s do some positives. This was pretty great casting across the board. Dunst especially nails this role. Offerman gets barely any screen time.
I really liked the opening scenes of this movie. Incredibly clear thesis scene. It really feels like it’s going to be an incredible movie on war journalism. It starts commenting on…
I procrastinated this movie for a LONG time. It was all the rage in college, so I knew it was going to be good.
And it lives up to the hype. Third act drags out a bit, but it had so much adrenaline, tension, and fun I’m not sure it really matters.
