Late to the party on this one, but I think I probably have a more nuanced perspective now than I would if I'd first seen it during its theatrical run. Everyone has nightmares now and then, but personally, nothing terrifies me more than the parental- based variety, a sensation that's only recently crept into my subconsciousness. Perhaps my favorite Michael Shannon performance to date. His turn in Hellcab isn't too shabby either, but I digress. I have a feeling this one will stick with me for a while longer than I'd prefer. Job well done.

Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky 1991
I DVR'd this on TCM. Sadly, Robert Osbourne(sp?) didn't introduce it. I'd seen fight footage back on the earliest Daily Show episodes, but have only recently seen it. "Eat a bowl of shit now!"
