  A super-fun intentionally goofy little-monsters-partying-and-causing-havoc movie in the mold of your Gremlins, Munchies, Ghoulies, Hobgoblins, and the like, while also being a loving homage to the same.

  I docked it a star because there was a lot of toilet humor, which isn't my thing, and because the one dude saying "Shabadoo" over and over grated on me, but I also recognize that that kind of stuff comes with the territory here.

  As a side note, I was super, super excited…

  Longmont Potion Castle is one of the funniest people going, and I've been a fan of his work since the mid '00s. I bought a copy of Where in the Hell is the Lavender House? blind on the assumption that I'd love it.
