I thought Babylon’s ending was so original and amazing and then I saw this. Great watch, feel-good and a bit sad.

    Watched on IMAX re-release.

Solid, solid film. Fantastic. Well-thought out plot, great writing, surprising twists and turns. Great characters. Back when Thrillers actually came with an aesthetic that made every frame beautiful and intense. Films have to come back to this.

Truly an auteur, Robert Eggers style of filmmaking is wholly unique and a return to a different type of film, and he muses this in Nosferatu. Fantastic costuming, cinematography, and editing, but wishing for a more subliminal, psychological fear than the cheap jump scares that were, unfortunately, the heart of the horror within the film. A satisfying watch for fans of cinematography and those who want to see Nicholas Hoult's untapped potential as an actor. Always a fan of The Northman, and whatever Eggers does next.

Three movies in one actually. All the Oscar buzz? Doubt it outside of Original Screenplay. Fantastic film regardless, complete pleasant surprise.
