Learned about this movie from Ariana as part of the preparation of her Eternal Sunshine album. The idea behind this is very intriguing, and I felt the shock and pain Joel felt upon learning that Clementine underwent the procedure because of him. Very through provoking throughout. I understand why the choice was made to present with non-linear storytelling, but it still not a form of storytelling I particularly like.

This was a profound watch that I’m not sure I’ll need…

While it wasn’t quite “laugh as loud” funny as I was hoping it would be, this is a truly powerful movie. Regina Hall was effortless in her portrayal, I felt her hopelessness as the day from hell progressed. Anyone that’s worked a shitty service job (or a service job in general) will be able to find familiarity with this movie.

The definition of mid 2000’s rom com fluff, a surprisingly effective Hollywood / Bollywood mishmash that didn’t feel too insufferable. Bonus points for a fairly original plot also.

It has been a very, very long time since a visual piece of art has affected me to this level. Although I found myself angry when the truth about Harry was revealed, I realize that this film cannot have a happy ending as it would defeat the goal of the story. This is a heartbreaking, anxiety inducing, and truly haunting examination of grief and loneliness. Although nothing presented here is truly new, the sheer execution and subdued nature of what’s happening on screen literally forces you to feel how Adam is feeling. I am not going to forget this movie.
