Firmly in the liked it but didn’t love it camp for this. A lot of the absurdity and satire landed for me even if I did find myself twisting in my chair at times, but tonally it lacks a clear identity. The scope is grand and Robert Pattinson once again shows his impressive range, I think he’ll have a fantastic season this upcoming year but probably not for this role.

The Flagmakers 2022
This short doc manages to stretch something seemingly mundane, working at a flag factory, into something much broader. It touches on racism, the American dream, immigration and social injustice. Some of it lands, some of it doesn’t but overall I think much of this will resonate, especially with an American audience.
