Bogart as a PI basically guarantees this is going to be a cool af film. Excellent cast excellent dialogue, confusing plot.
It starts off so strong and tight and then gets quite convoluted, however everything is absolute peak cinema and just draws you in.

This is one of the many films I studied at university and even though I understood why it was great, I never really appreciated it until now. Every element is spot on. It's stylish, wonderfully put together with unique and interesting direction, and it's topped off with an incredible performance by Gene Hackman. Harry is such a fascinating character and Hackman plays it to perfection.
This is truly an incredible piece of film making.
It has the potential to be a really interesting film, however it doesn't take any risks. Instead it's just paint by numbers, filler Marvel. It doesn't work as a solo movie as its so interconnected with other Marvel films and TV shows that it spends most of its time having to explain itself.
