  The Halloween film franchise has 13 films and almost all of them are dogshit yet this little pumpkin guy only has one. Make it make sense.

  Lone Wolf and Cub: Sword of Vengeance 1972

  I know this is based on a manga series of the same name, so I feel like some of the moments of exposition that were a little drawn out and convoluted may work better on page than on screen. Regardless, it was a fun experience that works well enough as a stand alone film and even better to jump start the series.

  Also, I love the color of blood in these classic era samurai flicks.

  Wow. What the fuck happened? Well, I know what happened, it's just a shame. So much hype for this and such a long wait and this is what we get. If the production quality was as high as the first episode through the whole series it would have been far better. The following episodes are noticeably worse with some animations being downright laughable. Such a waste of time I couldn't even bother to finish it.

  Is there a curse upon adapting Junji Ito's work? Mediocre adaptation after another. What's the point? Might as well just let his work stand on its own.

  I went in knowing little about this film, aside from the assumption it was about royalty? (Yikes, big uh oh for me). But it's Kubrick, so I'm sure he'll pull off something interesting. My god, it was amazing.
