    Bloody lovely.

    The Gorge

It’s alright I guess. Would’ve been better if we never saw what was in the gorge… if it really was the gate to hell or something.
Anya Taylor Joy putting in the majority of the work.

    Hellboy: The Crooked Man

Somehow manages to look like cross between a fan film and a made for tv movie.
I have read a lot of Hellboy and BPRD books and it does feel like a standalone issue, like a one off Hellboy story, but it’s very low budget… like most of the budget went on a couple set pieces made in Unreal engine.
Sorry, I love Hellboy, but this made me switch off half way through.

    How to Have Sex

    ★★★★

The dark moments under the surface of this film leave you feeling really disturbed.
The main performance by Mia McKenna-Bruce is brilliant, managing to show the complex struggles with what has happened and ‘keeping face’ in front of everyone. The ignorance and insensitivity of the people around her is simply disgusting, even Badger ‘the nice guy’ gets what’s probably happening and says nothing because him and Paddy are old friends.
Music and sound mix is excellent especially when it complements Tara’s confusion and anxiety.
