  Top Gun: Maverick 2022

  Getting to see an advanced screening of this is a treat I’ll never forget. Top Gun: Maverick is one of the rare sequels that is better than the original. The flight sequences in this film are exhilarating, and made feel like a kid watching Star Wars again. I liked the original Top Gun, but I love Maverick.

  Everything Everywhere All at Once 2022

  Upon exiting the theater I exclaimed, “This must be how people felt walking out of The Matrix in 1999” and I think it’s the best film of 2022. I loved it so much I went back to see it again a week later. Everything from Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan‘s performances to the Wong Kar Wai aesthetic. This film was everything and more and I can’t remember the last time a film left me in such awe.

  Swan Song is a sci-fi film with an interesting premise, but Mahershala Ali’s performance makes it that much more compelling. Naomie Harris was great too! Debating adding a star for the Frank Ocean song in the credits.

  Never would I have guessed the film’s title was actually just a play on the main characters name. Janet Jackson & Tupac were decent actors, and Q-Tip’s cameo was unexpected but dope as well. RIP John Singleton he really put everyone on.
