Black Mirror: Beyond the Sea 2023
Setting aside the fact that I’m not crazy about the premise, this episode would have been much more interesting if it was from the wife’s perspective.
Not knowing who is inhabiting your husband’s replica at any given time would make for some really meaningful drama and might even instill some of the dread that early Black Mirror was known for.

Reminds me of those really bad essays I used to write in high school English class which my teacher would give me a 70 on.
Takes a bunch of potentially thought-provoking topics like parasocial relationships, sentient AI and creative control, but just mishmashes them into some nonsense with no thesis, leaving you confused about the point it was trying to make.

Magnetic Rose: Far and away the best short out of the three. The usage of liminal space in Eva’s palace keeps you on the edge of your seat, constantly wondering where this is all going to lead. Haunting opera music helps maintain the creepy atmosphere and the Magnetic Rose herself is quite unnerving.
